Why Savvy Moms Choose Chinese Medicine to Safeguard the Health of Their Kids - Fri., 3/18, Pump Station Santa Monica

Did you know pediatrics was actively practiced in Chinese Medicine by 600 AD, with the unique characteristics of child physiology discussed as early as 400 BC? Chinese Medicine has a recorded history of well over 2000 years, with non-needling techniques created just for pediatrics health care.

Learn how a natural component in your child's healthcare routine assists with prevention and boosts overall wellness. If acupuncture has helped you with your health or fertility needs, then you know the power of Chinese Medicine.

Incorporating this natural, effective medicine is a sound extension of the special care you want to provide for your baby. It is a gentle tool that helps your child develop and reach milestones graciously and treats common pediatric conditions.

You will leave this class knowing:

  • When to confidently use Pediatric Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (PAOM) and when to seek your conventional pediatrician's care
  • Therapeutic pediatric massage to aid your child’s health and emotions.
  • The one thing most parents don't know about First Foods introduction

To sign up for this class, contact The Pump Station.

Brewing Herbs: Natural Stress Relief - Thurs., Sept. 19th 2013, 7:30-8:30 at Bird Pick Culver City

Brewing Herbs is back after a one month hiatus.  For many of us who are parents, late August and September is a crazy month, with children going back to school.  Sleep schedules need to be readjusted, dealing with new teachers and possibly new schools, homework, and making lunches are among many of the stresses parents face during Back to School.

To help reduce stress, Bird Pick and Iyashi Wellness is showcasing two herb products that can ease the stress and keep you - and your family - healthy:  Tranquili-tea and Bai Mu Er.  The former is a tea and the latter a delicious soup that adults and children alike can enjoy.

Come learn how to manage your stress naturally using herbs!

Date: Thurs., Sept 19th 7:30-8:30

Where: Bird Pick Culver City (inside Westfield Mall, formerly Fox Hills Mall)

Sample the delectable tea and soup!

Boost your Immune System at Café Acupuncture - at Iyashi Wellness

Just in time for the flu season! Come experience bliss and boost your immune at the same time with ear acupuncture and ear acupressure (acupressure is great for kids and needle-phobes!). When you are under long exposure to stress (who as a mom isn’t?!?!), your body has excess amounts of a hormone called cortisol floating in your body. High levels of cortisol is known to decrease your immune. Acupuncture/ pressure, on the other hand, reduces stress by releasing endorphins (feel-good hormones) and I'l also be offering free samples and kits to purchase of my sweet tonic soup which is great for that dry cough that won't go away, sleep problems, and -- Ladies, this soup is great for keeping your skin youthful and supple!

Spread the word and bring your friends and family! Great for kids. $20 for 20 minute; kids under 16 are free. What a wallet-friendly event!!
